Professional Experience
For over 19 years, I have represented individuals and businesses in a variety of legal matters before the state and federal courts in Oregon, Washington and Alaska, as well as before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. I am AV® Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Ratings.
I want to be the first call my clients make when facing a legal challenge, no matter what the legal issue might be. Although I have a broad and diverse bank of legal knowledge and experience, I want my clients to know that in those occasions where I am not the right lawyer for the job, I know who is and I would be happy to make sure a client is well taken care of, even if I am not handling the problem.
Outside Activities
My son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was eighteen months old. Since his diagnosis in 1998, my wife and I have been very involved in Type 1 diabetes-related activities. I currently serve on the Gales Creek Camp Foundation Board of Directors, and am a past board member of the Portland/SW Washington chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
I believe strongly in community involvement. For nearly 13 years, I served my city, the City of Rivergrove, as a City Councilor and as its Mayor during the last two years. I also helped form the Parent-Teacher Organization at River Grove Elementary School, and served as its first president.
I am an avid skier and you can find me on the slopes of Mt. Hood nearly every Saturday the mountain is open. During the off season, I enjoy fishing, woodworking and just being with my family.
How I Serve My Clients
If I were asked to describe my greatest strength as a lawyer, it would be this: “I pride myself in my ability to cut through the white-noise that seems to bog down others, so I can give my clients solid, practical, accurate advice which they can then use to make business-minded decisions.”
Please email me if you’d like me to help you, or if you’d like more information.
