Oregon Trial Lawyers
Litigation simply refers to a lawsuit brought in order to enforce a legal right. Our lawyers are experienced courtroom attorneys who understand the litigation process, have the resources to successfully litigate for you, and will utilize the tools and knowledge to ensure that your legal rights are protected.
Whether you are a plaintiff seeking to enforce your rights, or a defendant who is being sued, we will efficiently and professionally represent you in your lawsuit.
In a broader sense, litigation is broken down into two main areas. Commercial Litigation and personal litigation matters.
Commercial Litigation:
Also called business litigation. This area deals with all areas of law that business’s may encounter. Common issues include:
- Collection of debt
- Debt work out agreements
- Breach of Contract
- Employment Disputes
- Intellectual Property Disputes
- Foreclosure on Real Estate
- Foreclosure of Personal Property
Our lawyers are accomplished in business and litigation. As your lawsuit progresses, You’ll need to make certain decisions on whether to settle, how to settle, the terms of the settlement, and the risks of presenting your case to a jury.
We will not only advise you on the legal strength of your position, but because of our business experience, we know what information is most useful to you when, from a business perspective, you weigh your strategic alternatives.
We are fastidious about every detail of your case and litigate each case in preparation for victory at trial. Our purposeful, focused litigation often leads to favorable pre-trial settlements. But if your case doesn’t settle, the preparation we’ve done will lend weight and effectiveness to our presentation at trial.
Personal Litigation:
Personal litigation includes the following types of cases:
- Personal injury
- Collection (creditor and debtor)
- Neighbor Disputes
- Boundary Line Disputes
- Foreclosure on Real Estate
- Insurance Disputes
We accept clients who have claims against another (Plaintiffs) and people who have a claim against them (defendants).
Whether you’re a Plaintiff or a defendant, we will thoroughly investigate and prepare your claim or defense, attempt to resolve it without litigation. If that’s not possible, we will vigorously present your case to a Judge and Jury. Our sole goal is to enforce and protect your legal rights.
If you’re a Defendant you may have an insurance company (auto insurance, title insurance, homeowners insurance) that covers your defense. If so the insurance company may hire someone to defend you. However, remember that the attorney is working for the insurance company, not you. So it may still be wise to hire your own lawyer to protect your rights. In fact, when the possible claim against you exceeds the policy limits, you should definitely hire your own lawyer.
