I first began to explore a career as an attorney while working as a law clerk for a civil litigation office in Los Angeles. There, I learned the high-paced nature of litigating multimillion dollar lawsuits and drafting contracts ranging from real estate to the film industry. Enjoying the experience of civil litigation, I focused on honing my pre-trial and courtroom skills in law school, taking classes in criminal procedure, trial practice, and family law.
Knowing I wanted to continue working in the civil litigation and criminal realms, I joined the Harris Velázquez Gibbens team in 2013. Working at this fast paced, well staffed firm has quickly developed my skills and made me extremely effective in the courtroom arguing pre-trial matters and cases before judges and juries. I now represent client accused of criminal acts ranging from drug possession to theft to accomplice liability.
My clients appreciate the fact that the Harris Velázquez Gibbens Attorneys act as a team, always willing to help out and mentor other attorneys. My clients don’t just have me, they have 5 other criminal defense attorneys working their case.
I believe every case is unique, requiring individualized attention and a distinct strategy to reach the best result for each client. I strive to find alternative solutions for my clients facing criminal charges, including civil compromise, diversion, or specialty courts for drugs and mental health. Listening to my client and understanding their goals is one of the most important tasks I have. And I take it seriously.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and singing opera (in five different languages).
